The theme of the year seems to be the commercial real estate (CRE) mini-bubble. Buyers with "other people's money" have been chasing yield as T-bill rates fall to or below inflation. The expected CRE bust of '09-10 was forestalled by "extend-pretend" loan restructuring. Some market timers (Costar) did great. CoStar bought from the Mortgage Bankers at a big discount, then sold less than a year later at a big markup. There may not be a lot of time to sip the bubbly, though.
